WATCH: MAP Youth Leadership Council Hosts Inaugural Youth Policy Summit
This fall, the MAP Youth Leadership Council (YLC) hosted its inaugural Youth Policy Summit! NYC government officials and local partners joined the YLC to craft a vision for thriving communities, guided by insight from young adults representing MAP communities across the city.
The Youth Policy Summit engaged community members of all ages and gave young people the opportunity to participate in the policy planning and implementation process. During the summit, YLC members outlined their priorities for meaningful policy changes that reflected their interests, concerns, and personal experiences. Food security was a top concern for some participants, while others prioritized a more equitable education system. Attendees used the YLC NeighborhoodStat Action Agenda as a discussion guide to address these priorities and more.
Watch the videos below to see highlights from the first MAP Youth Policy Summit and learn how NYC youth envision a safe and vibrant city!
